Camber & storage

Camber?

Camber is the amount of space beneath the center of a snowboard when it lays on a flat surface and its weight rests on the tip and tail. In other words, This is the gentle arch the board makes when you rest it on a flat surface.
This camber is responsible for giving the board "pop" or liveliness and aids in the transitioning between turns. When a snowboard's camber is greatly diminished or gone, it is time to get a new one. The life of the camber will depend on the construction of the board, the way a board has been stored, the rider's weight, and the rider's level of aggressiveness.

KNOP

Snowboards are often put away upon clausets or under beds. These ways of storing have a substential effect on the camber of the Snowboard. Due to the gravity the board is pulled down over long periods of time. Storing a snowboard vertically might help preventing it from losing its camber.
